Reading Challange 12

We were told to read a book that your parents read when they were young and I read Pony pals "I want a pony"
Warning this is a spoiler.

Reflection:
It is about a girl called Lulu or Lucinda and she went out to have a picnic one day and she took some food and made a map of where she was going she headed up Mudge road and then went up Lilac lane, she saw a pony in a barbed wire paddock when she got up there she feed the pony an apple and crawled under the fence she set her picnic up and ate it she also decided to call the pony Snow white. The next day she went on a picnic again but when she got up the road she saw that the pony was in pain it had cut herself in the barbed wire she needed help luckily 2 girls names Pam and Anna riding horses named Lightning and Acorn. Lulu took her sweater off and waved it around. Pam and Anna noticed it they went over to her and saw that the pony was sore. Pams dad was a vet so  they went back to go get him. He came back and helped the pony into the horse trailer and headed back the girl talked and talked. The next day Lulu got a phone call, it was Pam asking if she wanted to stay the night at her house Lulu was allowed and she went. When they got there they had dinner and then went over to the stables they slept in the stables next to Snow white. In the end Lulu ended up riding Snow white .

Reading challenge 11

Today we were told to read a newspaper article about a local event or issue.

Refliction:
It was about a history class from Greymouth High School that went to the great war exhibition at the national war memorial in Wellington. They saw lots of things like life-like mannequins and a display glass of gas masks.

Maths Week

This week it was maths week and everyday Shanika and I did the "Maths millionaire" and we did the same answers so we got the same reward and here it is,

Reading challenge 10

Today we were told to read a story based on a true story I read... Shrek the famous hermit sheep of Tarras.

Reflection:

I was a bit sad for the sheep it was scared of the shavers so he ran away and never returned but he ended up with a great home and with John there to help him and he had a special coat made just for him.

Reflection:
I think that it is like a grandpa talking about a "midnight ride" that in the story was a famous day that no one talked about.

Today in ruma rima we got told to read something set in the past, I did a New Zealand book called "Charlotte and the golden promise" It's set in 1865.

Reflection:
I thought that it was pretty sweet the Charlotte went out with a friend to get some money/gold for her family well her quite poor family, her friends dad works in a gold mine and Charlotte went there with her friend to get rich for her family.

Reading Challenge 7

Hello welcome back, Today we got told to... Read a book that was turned into a movie! I read 101 dalmatians

Reflection:
I love how they had 15 then 14 then 15 (because they lost one) then 101 some out of the 15 puppies had their own personality like Lucky liked to watch T.V, I also like how the cat is called "Sergeant Tibs" and is so nice to the puppies. My favourite part is when Pongo chases someone with a dog that he liked and then... pushes... her... into... the... pond.

Reading Challenge 4/5/6

Welcome back to Ruma Rima's reading challenge series, today i got told to read at least 100 pages, read a novel and read a book set in the future. I read Amulet book 2, The stonekeeper's curse.

Reflection:
I thought the book is sad and has got a really big twist to it, I like how the little bunny "Miskit" can talk. I also like how the book is a comic type book it just made it a bit easier to read through the 217 pages I had to read.

Reading challenge 2

This is my reading reflection for the challenge on ruma rima's reading challenge "read a story/chapter to a parent/sibling" I did a story to my sibling.

Reflection:
The book "My big brother Boris" is pretty good there is also "My little sister Doris" but we don't own it but anyways I think it was pretty funny because Boris had a "snout ring" and it was funny with these sayings Mum croc saying "Take it out!" and dad croc saying "It looks stupid"  and then Boris saying "I like it, it's my snout".

Reading challenge

In ruma rima we are doing a reading challenge. I read Esio Trot by Roald Dahl for my funny book

Reflection:
I think the book was funny because Mr Hoppy kept on switching the tortoises to make Mrs Silver believe that Mr Hoppy's magic words worked. I like Mrs Silver's reaction, she would yell out to Mr Hoppy saying "Mr Hoppy your magic words worked" but they really weren't.

Tessellations

In Ruma Rima we have been doing some tessellations. My group (Mā) made some wrapping paper out of A3 paper. The group Kahurangi made a Logo and the group Kowhai made some drawings to put on planter boxes. The last group Tawa is making some tessellation art. Here is a photo of my wrapping paper

My Biography

In Term 2 Ruma Rima has been learning about New Zealand singers I choose Lorde. We learnt to use keywords to search about the singer we choose and I found it quite hard to search about it because I could not find the thing I want here is a link to my video. If I had Wings poem

In Ruma Rima everyone did the "if I had wings" poem we had to do the 5 senses smell, hear, see, touch and taste. this is what I did

If I Had Wing

If I had wings… I would go to the sun and hope it doesn't burn me. 🔥🌞🐦

If I had wings… I would taste the clouds that tastes like chocolate cake with candy floss icing and with jelly on the top. 🎂🍮🍬

If I had wings… I would touch the moon and see if it’s warm or cold. 🌙⛸🌶

If I had wings… I would listen to the cow jumping over the moon going MOOOON. 🐄🌙🐮

If I had wings… I would smell the stars and hope they smell like candy and jelly. 🍮🍬🌟
